Digital Communication

Hey! My name is Skylar and this particular blog is for a class I’m taking called “Digital Communication Tools”.  I will be using this blog for posting things for this class for the rest of the semester. Our semester began with a unit on Digital Citizenship, learning about what it is to be responsible and respectful online, how we can control our digital footprint, and whether or not that becomes helpful or hurtful for future opportunities. Digital Citizenship is knowing how big a role media plays in your life and being able to responsibly put your image online. You must be respectful, responsible, and ethical to be able to present yourself well and use the web in a safe way.

After going in depth on this topic in class, I have changed my ways online. My online footprint wasn’t bad before, it just needed improving.  I post fewer things that could be harmful to myself or others down the road, but unfortunately some of my friends aren’t on the same boat. They post and say things online that I know will cost them some opportunities in the future. Things you post online will be there forever, even if you delete them. Be careful about what you put out there.

What you see attached to this is an info-graphic which is just a fun poster full of information. Ours is suppose to be about some element of Digital Citizenship, so I created mine about the role media plays in the lives of people around the world.  I hope you enjoy!
